It’s a busy time here at the church!  Last week was spent in preparation for the Women’s Retreat, which was just wonderful, and this week is a flurry of pancake breakfast related activity.  From getting signs printed to designing and distributing fliers to figuring out the best pancake recipe to use, we have been focused on breakfast (which isn’t such a bad thing).  The fundraiser, which will be held THIS Saturday, October 1, from 8:30 – 11:00 AM at the American Legion Hall (by the community pool), will raise money for our mission team and support Asia’s Hope in Cambodia.  This organization does important and wonderful work, rescuing orphans from the streets thus keeping them out of the hands of traffickers, raising them in a family setting, educating them, and sending them to college.  In a country that’s had its intellectual class massacred during the war, being able to send children raised in a Christian environment to college means that those children will become the Christian leaders in that country.  The money that you spend at the pancake breakfast (and any other fundraiser for the mission team) will fight trafficking, poverty, and spread Christianity throughout the world.  Sounds like a good reason to eat some pancakes to me!
In addition to the pancake breakfast we’ve been preparing for the Welcome Dessert tonight.  This evening will be a great time to learn about the history and values of the Vineyard and meet the pastors and other leaders in the church.  It’s an informal event designed help you find your place and connect in the church.  Also, if you’ve been coming for a while but aren’t sure about what the values are that the Vineyard upholds this would be a great event for you.  If you’d like to RSVP, please give us a call at (937) 642-1009 or email Conrad Esh at  We look forward to seeing you at all of our upcoming events.
